Airtel’s postpaid roaming facilities allows you to avail all Voice, SMS, GPRS and other VAS facilities with the foreign operators using your existing number when you travel outside Bangladesh.
International Roaming (IR) services can be availed by the subscribers who meet the following criteria:
Eligibility Conditions:
- Postpaid connection with ISD facility
- International Credit Card (own name)/ RFCD account/ FC Account
- Valid International Passport
- Security Deposit for postpaid roaming is BDT 10,000 (Refundable)
Handset Requirement
- Pick a phone, the right one.
- For most countries you will need Tri-band handsets/Devices (GSM 900/1800/1900)
- For roaming in Japan/Korea, you need a W-CDMA handset.
How to select network while abroad?
After reaching to the foreign country, you have to get connected to a foreign operator’s network to make use of postpaid roaming services.
You can do this in two ways:
- Automatic Network Selection:
- Go to the “Network Selection” menu in your handset
- Select “Automatic”
- The strongest Network will be selected automatically for your use.
- Manual Network Selection:
- Go to the “Network Selection” menu in your handset
- Select “Manual” or “Search”
- All available networks will be displayed
- Select your desired network.
Disclaimer:
Availability of roaming services (Voice, SMS, GPRS & VAS) in a particular destination would depend on Airtel-foreign operator roaming tie-up status. Hence you need to check with your nearest Airtel Care for detailed information on available services and tariff structure for the particular destination

For making any international/ local outgoing call while roaming:
Dial the international access code (+/00), the country code, area code for fixed phone or mobile code (without leading zero) before calling.
Example: if you are calling a fixed phone in Canberra Australia you will dial

0061 2 XXXX XXXX
For calling back to Bangladesh while roaming:
Dial the international access code (+/00), the country code, area code for fixed phone or mobile code (without leading zero) before calling.
Example: if you are calling a mobile phone in Bangladesh you will dial

or
0088016XXXXXXXX
Note: Subscriber can receive voice call/ SMS from anywhere in the world while roaming abroad.
To subscribe to postpaid roaming services, you also need to submit certain documents to us which are as follows:
- Duly filled subscription form
- Photocopy of valid International Passport (first 7 pages)
- Photocopy of valid International Credit Card/ RFCD Account/ FC Account
ir service against the fc account:
- user should have FC account under the clause "GUIDELINES FOR FOREGN EXCHANGE TRANSACTIONS", 1996, Volume-1, Chapter 10,Section-1, Clause-1(i) or "GUIDELINES FOR FOREGN EXCHANGE TRANSACTIONS", 1996, Volume-1, Chapter-13, Section-1, Clause-1(iv) to avail the IR service of airtel.
- In beginning to avail the IR service, user have to bring pay order in $ equivalent to 10,000(IR security deposit which is refundable) with the letter in bank's letter head pad issued by the users bank. (Format given below)
- For paying IR bill, each time users have to always come with pay order in $ with the letter in bank's letter head pad issued by the user's bank in same format mentioned below.
